The Secret to Make Best Chicken Karahi
Just as they do in Karachi’s Dhabas, I firstly cook the chicken in a kadai. Why? Because we all know that as compared to lamb karahi, chicken karahi cooks quickly. Therefore, when chicken is cooked in tomato puree, it gives a fine taste.
If this recipe is cooked over a high heat, tomatoes often risk tasting raw. Both circumstances will ruin the flavor as wel as delicateness of recipe. As a result of, frying the chicken firstly as I mentioned in my recipe method and adding tomato afterward helps to prevent overcooking the chicken. The trick to preparing chicken karahi, in the last , is a lot of stir-frying.
Ingredients
Chicken karahi dish uses the same components as we use in a recipe, but each variation uses a different cooking method. Meat, tomato chillies, and ginger are the essential components of an authentic recipe, which is prepared in ghee/butter. So that if you want to make best chicken karahi must follow all the steps as well as I given in my recipe.

- Chicken 750g
- Butter /Oil 1cup
- Onions (chopped) 1
- Tomato 250g
- Green chili 6-7
- Red chili powder 1tsp
- Salt 1-1/2tsp (according to taste)
- Black pepper 1tsp
- Yogurt 4tbsp
- Cumin (powder) 1-1/2tsp
- Ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
- All spices (powder) 1tsp
- Lemon juice 1tbsp
- Ginger, coriander (chopped) for garnishing
Method
- Firstly put a wok on gas stove and heat the oil.
- After heating oil add chicken and started frying it. When the chicken changes its color(white) then add ginger and garlic paste in it and cook it for 2 minutes.
- Now you add chopped tomatoes and put it on steam for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes mix chicken well so that the tomatoes crushed and mix well.
- Now add salt, red chili powder, black pepper and all spices powder. Now cook it for 3-5 minutes.
- At last add yogurt, green chili, lemon juice and cumin powder in it.
- Cook well until the water dry.
- Now low your flame add fresh coriander and ginger in it.
- Finally, your special recipe is ready.

Serving Suggestions for Chicken Karahi
You can serve with roti, tandoori naan, roughni naan, pita bread, and chapati. Sliced washed onions really well with a fresh salad.
